Dr. Hazuda is the owner and senior dentist in our wonderful office.  He was born in Delaware where he attended Dickinson High School. From there, Dr. Hazuda went on to the University of Delaware, graduating with a B.S. degree in Chemistry. After the U of D, he studied his craft at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Hazuda graduated with a D.M.D. degree in 1981 and completed his hospital residency in Wilmington in 1982. He was awarded a fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry. He continues his education in all areas of dentistry including restorative, implant and cosmetic dentistry…to date he has logged over 1425 hours of continuing education. He currently belongs to two active area study clubs of multi- disciplinary dental professionals. Dr. Hazuda is also a charter member of what is now called the Hockessin/Greenville Rotary Club and is active in his Lutheran Church.

Dr. Hazuda has been married for 28 years and has 3 children. Kara is currently employed at ING Direct in Wilmington and Mike III is completing his degree at Virginia Tech. Leah is a senior at the University of Delaware. Some of Dr. Hazuda’s hobbies include reading, road biking, hiking, tennis, scuba diving, boating, the beach, travel, photography and spending time with his family.

Another one of Dr. Hazuda’s favorite pastimes is music. He was a founding member of the local rock band “Whale” in the 1970’s. Recently, Dr. Hazuda has played with “Boys Night Out”, an 8 member rock-n-roll horn band with some of his ex-Whale friends. Dr. Hazuda plays the sax and clarinet. When he is not playing with “Boys Night Out”, he is the lead member of “Dr. Mike and the Molars”, a traveling rock-n-roll revue that performs a dental health show annually. Dr. Hazuda has been taking this show on the road for over 13 years now, and looks forward to performing for the students every year….it’s quite the production!

Dr. Hazuda enjoys spending his days taking great care of his patients, making sure that they get the best, most up to date dental care, and that each and every experience here is comfortable and enjoyable.
